Université catholique de Louvain is a large, comprehensive and international higher education institution comprising about 27,000 students of 127 different nationalities and 5,000 staff members (research, administrative and technical). UCL is responsible for the education of nearly one out of two French-speaking students in Belgium and proposes courses in a very wide range of disciplines. One fifth of its population is made of international students. One quarter of the alumni has realized part of the curriculum in a partner university. The University has more than 700 partnerships worldwide, among others through the Erasmus Programme. UCL has already obtained twice the ECTS Label for its efficiency in managing exchange programs (in 2006 and 2009).
