Université Saint-Joseph

 

Université Saint-Joseph (USJ) is a Lebanese private higher education institution founded in 1875 and renowned for the quality of its education and scientific activities and research.

 

USJ counts today 12 Faculties and 25 Institutes covering all majors except fine arts. These faculties are distributed on 9 campuses, with a Law School branch in Dubai. It also counts over 2 000 professors of various ranks, over 500 employees and 12,000 students.

 

Since 2003, USJ follows the European Credit Transfer System.

 

USJ aspires to be a pole of excellence and distinction in the Arab world in basic and applied scientific research. In addition to the laboratories and research units, USJ has created Berytech, a technology pole aimed at developing technology startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking and company hosting. In 2011, The Health and Technology Pole (PTS), is the first of its kind in Lebanon dedicated to health research and biotechnology.

 

In the framework of its international strategy, USJ has developed partnerships with over 200 higher education institutions throughout the world and strives not only to maintain itself as a destination for student mobility, but also to encourage its students to study abroad as part of their curricula. Consequently, USJ is involved in many European funded projects such as Tempus, Erasmus Mundus, FP7, etc.
